Draft Prospects the Eagles Should Target if Front Office is Serious About Reportedly Targeting 'Speed'

The Philadelphia Eagles really need to nail the 2020 NFL Draft considering where they stand at the moment as a franchise. Despite still having a franchise quarterback in Carson Wentz, the team's Super Bowl window is closing, given the aging veterans on the roster, as well as the contract situations surrounding a number of others.

With that, we learned the Eagles will reportedly be focusing on speed when they're making their selections in a few weeks.

So, if that's the case, who should they target?

The Eagles have a perpetual need at cornerback despite acquiring Darius Slay. Having too many skilled defensive backs is never a problem, which is why Pride Jr. could be a target of GM Howie Roseman's. The speedster ran a 4.4 40-yard dash, which was one of the fastest times among cornerbacks at the NFL Combine. Throw in the fact he was a member of the No. 12 defense in the country last season and lined up against some of the best talent in the country, and Philly fans could be pleased with this pick.

2. TCU WR Jalen Reagor

Reagor figures to be a late first-round or early second-round pick despite regressing in 2019 due to a struggling TCU squad. His sophomore season stands out as his best, after he logged 72 receptions for 1,061 yards and nine touchdowns, but what teams might like the most are his 4.47 40-yard dash and the fact he averaged over 15 yards per reception while in college. Give Carson Wentz another guy who can get open down field and the Eagles are in great shape.

1. Auburn CB Javaris Davis

Davis was a tremendous veteran presence on one of the best defenses in the country this past season. Despite Auburn ranking No. 17 in the country in that category, let's not forget they faced high-powered units such as Alabama, LSU, Oregon and Georgia in 2019. Davis made 43 tackles, logged two interceptions and had six passes defensed his senior season while going up against some of the best wideouts in the nation. Oh yeah, and he ran a 4.39 40-yard dash. Is that good?
