DeSean Jackson is Somehow Even More Motivated and That Should Scare Rest of NFC East

At 33 years old, DeSean Jackson is among the oldest wide receivers in the National Football League. He returned to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019 to try and support quarterback Carson Wentz and promptly turned out an injury-plagued season. He suffered a core injury that required surgery after only three games.

However, Jackson told Dave Spadaro, the Eagles' team insider, that he's more motivated than ever.

Players don't last eleven years in the NFL if they're not hard workers. Jackson has been a contributor for years, and he's a deep threat every time he steps on the field. Even this late in his career he's a nightmare for slower cornerbacks. So when DeSean Jackson says, "I’m definitely ready to roll, man," you'd better believe DeSean Jackson is ready to roll.

Even though he hasn't had a 1,000-yard season since 2016, Jackson led the league in yards-per-catch in his last healthy campaign, which was 2018. He can't be a true No. 1, but if he's as motivated and ready to go as he says, he'll be a great deep threat target for Wentz. With Zach Ertz being the only consistent weapon right now in Philadelphia, a guy who can stretch the field will be a big help.

Jackson is one of the best downfield receivers of the past decade, and if he can work himself back to full health, he'll still be able to contribute at a high level.
