The horrific car accident involving Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton has taken another twist.

Norton, who's arm had to be amputated as a result of the crash, was cited with an improper lane change that directly led to the crash in the accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The report determined that Norton's lane change instigated the incident. His car made slight contact with the vehicle he was passing in front of before crashing into the concrete barrier. It also states that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident.

Specifically, his car sideswiped a Maserati prior to the crash. The driver of the Maserati was able to stop and did not sustain any injuries as a result.

It's heartbreaking that the accident occurred, but Norton has received an outpouring of support from fans and players alike. His teammates even started a GoFundMe page to help offset the incoming financial burden he'll have to deal with as a result of the crash.

A seventh-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers back in 2018, things were looking up for Norton's NFL career heading into the 2019 season. He was vying for a roster spot with the Dolphins.

Hopefully Norton, who still has a couple of surgeries left to undergo according to his agent, will continue his progress in recovery.
