The Los Angeles Rams shipped off an injured Aqib Talib to the Dolphins at the trade deadline after placing the veteran defensive back on injured reserve.

Well Talib, who is currently in LA while recovering from his ailment, is unhappy with the fact that he's on IR. The 33-year-old claimed that he feels healthy enough to play now, though because he's on IR he won't be eligible to return until Week 15.

“I talked to Coach Flo and right now, I’m just focused on getting healthy," Talib said via USA Today. "When I’m able to come off the injured reserve list, it’ll be a decision to make for the team, for myself. But ultimately, I don’t make any decisions, as you can see. I just show up and make sure I’m healthy enough to play football.”

Perhaps Sean McVay was taking a page out of the Patriots' book by placing Talib on IR, who similarly placed Josh Gordon on injured reserve before cutting him from the team.

Talib appeared in five games for the Rams this season before suffering the injury to his ribs which landed him (perhaps unnecessarily) on IR. He logged 14 tackles and defended two passes on the year.

The Dolphins acquired Talib and a fifth-round pick from the Rams as a way for Los Angeles to dump the veteran's $4.235 million salary.

The former 2008 first-round pick has recorded 35 interceptions and scored 10 defensive touchdowns in his career.
