Let's just come right out and say that this rumor may or may not stand on sturdy legs. It probably doesn't, to be honest. That said, however, i's allure cannot be understated.

Dez Bryant stirred the pot of a potential NFL return this week with an intriguing response he posted to a comment on his Instagram page. The comment insinuated that the former three-time Pro Bowler would be taking his talents to Foxborough to help out a depleted New England Patriots offense.

Bryant's reply has since been deleted, but Larry Brown Sports was quick to capture a screenshot of the brief conversation.

Again, Dez's social media game is as unpredictable and unreliable as it gets in terms of professional athletes, so take his reply with a grain of salt.

However, it's largely expected that the Patriots will add depth to the wide receiver position before the conclusion of the regular season, and Bryant himself took to Twitter on Thursday to claim that big news could be headed our way in a few weeks.

Due to the lack of talent on the current wide receiver market -- no offense to Jordan Veasy! -- Dez's recent social media pulse, at the very least, has us intrigued.
