Devin Bush Already Making a Name for Himself at Steelers Camp

NFL Draft

The Steelers' first top 10 draft pick in nearly 20 years seems to be turning heads at training camp early on.

Linebacker Devin Bush, formerly of the Michigan Wolverines, has been quick to impress teammates at OTAs, garnering praise from established Steelers studs like TJ Watt, Vance McDonald and Cam Heyward. Pittsburgh drafted Bush with the 10th overall pick in the 2019 draft after trading with the Denver Broncos, who would use the Steelers' No. 20 pick to select tight end Noah Fant.

Teammates don't believe "fast" is an accurate enough description of Bush, who posted a 4.43 time at the combine for his 40-yard dash. Watt described the rookie as being "quicker than snot."

If there has been one knock on Bush, and there hasn't been many, it would be his need to develop a strong voice in the middle of the Steeler defense. Replacing the venerable Ryan Shazier is already a large enough shoe to fill, but his teammates believe he's capable of getting things done and using the communication system effectively.

One thing that isn't being questioned? Bush's physicality.

If the former Wolverine keeps showing out at camp, Steelers fans should be excited to watch him gearing up when the regular season comes around. They picked up a stud, and he's already looking to be worth the high-value draft selection.
