Dellin Betances Set to Take Major Step in Injury Recovery
By Seth Carlson

New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances is taking his first major step towards returning to the field from injury.
According to MLB.com's Yankees beat reporter Bryan Hoch, Betances will throw off a mound Monday.

Betances is still likely a few weeks away from returning to big league action. He posted a 2.70 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched last year as one of the many setup men in the Yankees' bullpen along with Zach Britton, Aroldis Chapman and Adam Ottavino, who was signed away from the Rockies.
Adding Betances back into the mix in 2019 would be huge for a Yankees pitching staff decimated by injuries to players like Luis Severino and James Paxton and struggling pitchers like J.A. Happ.

The Yankees are 34-17 and in first place in the American League East division with their battered up roster, so one can only imagine how New York will look once injured players return and load up for what should be an exciting and reinvigorating second-half playoff run.
