David Ortiz's Spokesman Leo Lopez Says Shooting Was an 'Act of Hired Killers'

Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz was shot in the lower back on Sunday night in his native Dominican Republic, and while he's stable, he remains in intensive care and could be soon transported to Boston for further treatment.
The reason behind this shooting is still murky, but according to Ortiz's spokesman Leo Lopez, this was "an act of hired killers."

"The robbery is ruled out. There is no doubt that it was an act of hired killers and is under investigation and we hope that the conclusion will be reached," said López.
Utter shock. That was no robbery, that was a hit, and they better get to the bottom of it. Thank god no amount of evil or hate can overcome a heart that big. You got this @davidortiz, we love you bro!

Initially, this incident was believed to be an attempted robbery. The Dominican police ruled that out and so did the security camera footage that showed the shooter simply approach Ortiz from behind before pulling the trigger and shooting him.
As the rumors continue to swirl, all that's important is Ortiz recovering swiftly and returning to full strength.
