Darren Rovell Posts Misleading Coronavirus Stats With Zero Context for Absolutely No Reason
By Jerry Trotta

Action Network contributor Darren Rovell, more known for his polarizing presence on social media than his contributions to society, occasionally gets disparaged by his followers for meaningless and misleading posts.
Monday evening was much of the same for Rovell, as he went on to tweet out wholly deceptive statistics on the coronavirus that have absolutely no context, joining the ridiculous trend of comparing the evolving epidemic to the flu.
Known CoronaVirus Cases: 523
— Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) March 9, 2020
Known CoronaVirus Deaths: 19
Known Flu Cases: 46 million
Known Flu Deaths: 45,000
Source: John Hopkins/CDC
Um, thanks? Who is this helping.
These statistics are completely worthless in that they confirm that the flu is a serious and deadly illness, too, but don't mention the fact that we...know nothing about the coronavirus and its spread, it appears to feature a higher death rate, and we need to be adequately prepared for its arrival.
This flu fact has been known for a while, but for some reason, it's been reiterated countless times since the coronavirus started making waves around the globe.
Rovell continued spewing nonsense by playing the skeptic role, because why not strike more fear into the hearts of his two million (!) followers?
We don’t know that. We don’t know how many people have had Coronavirus undetected.

Again, thanks for stating the obvious, Rovell.
We're not picking on the guy, but he should have the self awareness to know that literally nobody was asking to be informed of these empty tallies.
