Dan Mullen Really Wants Us to Believe He's Not Secretly Trolling Georgia at All Times

This offseason has been all about Dan Mullen and his attempted trolling of Kirby Smart's UGA program. Anybody from SEC Country to the Pac-12 can see it from miles away, yet somehow we're expected to believe it was all circumstance?

When UF's announced spring game attendance was 39,376, Mullen himself hinted in the postgame press conference that it was a troll attempt. Turns out, that makes more sense than you might think.

But the head coach did a complete 180 when asked about the stunt this week. Honestly, what is this?

“I’ll be honest with you, there’s not always secret meanings into what I’m saying,” said Mullen when asked about the spring game at SEC Spring Meetings.

Yeah, okay. Florida's own fans celebrated the 14,000th day since the Bulldogs last won a national championship, which is fine, but don't back down when pressed by the UGA program. Mullen has done just that, whether intentional or not. Backing down, at this juncture, makes the Gators look weak.

It would also behoove the Florida coach to keep his eyes on his own program, with players such as Chris Steele leaving the team because he wasn't allowed to switch roommates (one Jalon Jones, who also left the team after allegations of sexual battery).

Should Florida fail to back up their talk against Georgia on Nov. 2, or falter along the way, Mullen will have a lot to answer for, whether he thinks his offseason shots at UGA are legitimate or not.
