Dallas Keuchel Saying the Astros Didn't Cheat Every Game is Absolutely Hilarious

On Friday afternoon, Dallas Keuchel became the first Houston Astros player, former or current, to apologize for the team's cheating scandal.

While him coming forth and apologizing was commendable, the lefty attempted to excuse the team's sign-stealing antics by saying that they didn't necessarily do it every game.

The Chicago White Sox starter said it was "not like every game we had it going on." Effectively, the Astros cheated, but only sometimes, so it's not that big of a deal, right?

All things considered, such a statement is laughable. The Astros were found to be cheating in 2017 by Danny Farquhar, all the while holding a 17-game lead in the AL West. It was by no means a do-or-die game, yet they still tried to cheat. If they stole signs in that game, it's hard to imagine they didn't also do it for other equally insignificant matchups.

With all of the evidence against the Astros, it's just impossible to buy what Keuchel's trying to sell. The apology was a kind gesture, especially considering no other member of the organization has offered as much, but the attempt to minimize the scale of the scandal by saying they didn't cheat every game was incredibly weak.
