Around the country and the world, medial experts and public officials are urging citizens to stay athome and adhere to social distancing in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus. As it turns out, however, a certain NFL quarterback isn't much of a believer in all that science-y pushed by the experts.

According to TMZ Sports, Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott hosted a birthday party for a friend on Friday night in which nearly 30 people were in attendance, including teammate and running back Ezekiel Elliott. This flies in the face of even the most basic recommendations from public health professionals, and shows such comically bad judgment that we might just lose our minds.

A series of photos obtained by TMZ depicts partygoers standing much, much closer to one another than the recommended six-foot buffer. Reporting suggests that only 10 individuals sat down for dinner at Prescott's home in Prosper, Texas Friday night, but the broader picture that's being painted here isn't exactly encouraging. This party taking place at all completely ignores the stay-at-home orders put in place by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in order to slow the spread of COVID-19, keep our health care infrastructure from getting overwhelmed, and ultimately save lives.

To ignore these orders isn't just stupid -- it's dangerous.

Prescott has been no stranger to questionable headlines of late. The franchise-tagged quarterback has drawn his fair share of criticism for participating in recent workouts with ex-Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant despite the imperative to observe social distancing.

Prescott clearly doesn't put much stock in critical advice from experts. Living his life as normal appears to be more important than potentially preventing additional illness and even death in his community. It's not that hard to understand, Dak: The longer we stay home, the quicker we can return to our routines.

If those like Prescott continue to deny the seriousness of this global pandemic, we're not going to get football anytime soon. Use your brains, people!
