The Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers are no strangers to battling it out for prospects, but Dabo Swinney sure went ahead and pulled a fast one on the SEC powerhouse with his latest move.

Bubba Chandler flew completely under the radar as a quarterback recruit, and was all set to go to Georgia on a baseball scholarship. Both a standout QB and pitcher, he made it clear he wanted to play both sports in college, but backed off his UGA pledge once he started garnering more football attention.

After Swinney put an official scholarship offer on the table on May 11, though, it was a game-changer for Chandler. A little over a week later, he gave Swinney the news he was hoping for.

This has to sting for Georgia. Not only was Chandler previously committed to the Bulldogs for baseball, but he was born and raised in the Peach State. Swinney and Co. went into their backyard to snag their newest football commit.

As a junior last season, Chandler threw for 1,763 yards and 22 touchdowns. He added 426 rushing yards and three more scores.

This kid has a serious cannon, which Clemson fans, not Georgia ones, will be able to see on full display starting in 2021.
