The Chicago Cubs (64-56) will look to stave off a potential sweep courtesy of the Phillies (62-58) as they close out a three-game series Thursday night. Wednesday night resulted in an 11-1 win for Philadelphia, as the home crowd saw Cole Hamels pitch at Citizens Bank Park for the first time since his departure. With the NL Wild Card in the midst of a chaotic finish, a series sweep for the Phils would put them just a game behind the Cubs for the second WC spot.

First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The series finale will be broadcast locally on WGN and NBC Sports Philadelphia as well as nationally on MLB Network. Additional streams for the game can be found on the MLB Streams subreddit.

Phillies Lineup

The Phils are mixing it up again, and Rhys Hoskins will bat leadoff with the usual suspects to follow.

Recently-acquired southpaw Drew Smyly will take on the Cubs for the first time in his career looking to close out the series. The Phils got a win in his last outing vs the Giants, despite Smyly allowing six runs in 5.2 innings. A win Thursday for Smyly to sweep the Cubs would definitely help solidify his role within the rotation.

Cubs Lineup

Jason Heyward remains out of the lineup, but Joe Maddon batting Albert Almora in the leadoff spot is a bit of a question mark. Nonetheless, the rest of the lineup is standard -- except Javy Baez was removed due to an illness.

Yu Darvish will take the mound for the Cubs, looking to build on the recent success he's had over his past seven starts. In that time, Chicago's righty has only walked two batters to go along with 53 strikeouts. Although his last outing resulted in a loss to the Reds, Darvish has arguably been the Cubs' best pitcher over the past couple months.
