Cowboys Sign Former Packers 2nd-Rounder Josh Jones to Practice Squad
By Kevin Aquino

After being waived by the Packers in late August, 2017 second-round pick Josh Jones is headed to Dallas to join the Cowboys practice squad.
The safety has played 29 games in his two-season NFL career, accumulating 96 solo tackles and 122 combined. The 25-year-old skipped team OTAs in hopes of being traded; he was eventually cut by Green Bay due to a non-football illness designation.

The Cowboys' momentum was halted by New Orleans this past Sunday, but they'll look to get it going against Jones' former team in Week 5. While it isn't likely that Jones will have the opportunity to clash with the Pack, an injury could certainly occur between now and Sunday, giving the NC State product some extra motivation to stay ready.

If Jones can turn heads, Dallas might just give him a shot, but after going unsigned for over five weeks, Jones might be satisfied with the practice squad gig.
