Cowboys Grant WR Allen Hurns His Release After Team Attempted to Make Him Take Pay Cut
By Thomas Carannante

The Dallas Cowboys crowded wide receiving corps just lost a veteran member of the unit.
On Tuesday, the team reportedly released wideout Allen Hurns after attempting to bring him back on a cheaper deal. Hurns requested the release because he'd rather test the open market than return to Dallas for less money, per Adam Schefter.

You can't blame Hurns at all here, either. He's coming off a very serious injury after he suffered a brutal ankle dislocation during the team's playoff victory over the Seattle Seahawks. On top of that, the Cowboys brought in Randall Cobb and Jason Witten this offseason in addition to returning Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Tavon Austin and Lance Lenoir Jr.
Hurns' uphill battle to get healthy AND get playing time certainly appeared daunting, and there was little chance he'd do it for less money.

A number of NFL teams will certainly be intrigued by Hurns' availability given his experience and the expectation he won't cost much.
