After former Seahawks safety Earl Thomas requested a trade out of Seattle, many Dallas Cowboys fans were disappointed that Jerry Jones didn't pull the trigger on a deal that would have brought the former Texas star back to the Lone Star State, as he hit free agency and signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

That group of Cowboys fans has to be relieved that Thomas' personal headaches are now someone else's problem, as Thomas become embroiled in a nasty extramarital affair wherein his wife Nina caught him, his mistress, and his brother in a rented Airbnb, which prompted her to pull a gun on him.

Thomas, a Texas native and former Longhorn star, would have been a perfect fit from a schematic standpoint, but the noise around him would have been too much to handle.

Any little scandal gets amplified and never forgotten whenever it happens to a Cowboy. Could you imagine if after a turbulent offseason in which they fired their head coach and failed to extend their quarterback, they had to deal with a star defensive back wrestling a gun away from his wife?

Let the Ravens handle this PR debacle.

Thomas is an elite centerfielder in the secondary who might be destined for Canton, but a Cowboys team tried to quiet down all the racket and steady the ship as they try to get back to the postseason doesn't need one of their best players caught in an extramarital affair that ends with him staring down the barrel of a gun.
