The Los Angeles Clippers are in the midst of an incredible season, one that may end with them winning the coveted Larry O'Brien Trophy. However, they are lacking a dominant rebounder or inside presence. Conversely, the Detroit Pistons have one of the top big men in the league in Andre Drummond, but seemingly have no future with him as a member of their team.

The Clippers could use the services of Drummond, as his large frame can help them against teams with bigger players, such as the Lakers.

The Pistons' big man depth without Drummond is very weak, especially with Blake Griffin out for the season. Therefore, the Clippers should trade a young big with potential who they do not play that much, such as Ivica Zubac.

Furthermore, they would need to match salary, so trading other pieces with expiring contracts they do not play much or whose time would be usurped by Drummond would be smart. Examples of this would be Patrick Patterson, Derrick Walton, and Mo Harkless. Lastly, in order to acquire by far the best player in the trade, the Clippers would have to give up a sweetener in the deal, like a second rounder in this coming NBA draft.

A trade like this can be very beneficial to both teams, with each gaining pieces necessary to help the team further their goals. The Clippers gain more star power, and the Pistons get young talent and cap space. Let's see if the teams make a deal by this Thursday's deadline.
