Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken Reportedly Told Opposing Teams That Browns Were a ‘Total Mess’

It's never a good look when a member of your organization goes to the media to talk about internal dysfunction. However, when one does so directly to employees of opposing teams, it's another story altogether.
This is the reality for the Cleveland Browns -- offensive coordinator Todd Monken allegedly did just that over the course of the 2019 season, reports insider Zac Jackson.

Monken, whose coaching career has spanned 30 years, reportedly dished out a lot of dirt regarding his own team when chatting with staffers on the opposing team. While Monken's assessment of the team's situation appears to be quite accurate, the fact that he felt the need to share such details prior to games is a bit odd (with the opposition, no less!).
Monken is not the only member of the Browns organization to reveal his displeasure with the team, of course, as star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was famously quoted telling opposing players to "come get me," which could easily be interpreted as a desire to jump ship. OBJ recently walked back that implication, however, insisting that the situation in Cleveland is "too special" for him to leave.
Whatever that means.
#Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr.: “I’m just telling you 2020’s going to be different. I don’t care who doubts. It’s going to be my year.”

With Monken exposed as the latest pair of loose lips in the Browns organization, it would be a bit more surprising to see him retained on the staff under a new incoming regime.
Chalk this one up as just another chapter in a miserable season for Cleveland fans.
