Black Monday has come and gone, and there are multiple head coaching vacancies teams are looking to fill with a quality option. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is atop of the list.

According to Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, the Patriots have granted permission to the New York Giants, Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns to speak with McDaniels regarding their head coach openings.

While the Patriots have given these three teams the OK, that doesn't mean McDaniels has to. As with any head coaching candidate, McDaniels has the choice of whether he wants to interview with certain teams, with the prime example being Baylor head coach Matt Rhule declining to speak with the Browns earlier this week.

McDaniels is no stranger to the head coaching sweepstakes. Back in 2018, the former Denver Broncos head coach interviewed with a variety of teams, and seemingly reached a deal with the Indianapolis Colts. However, McDaniels reneged on the agreement at the last minute and returned to the Patriots.

Despite many believing that would end any shot of McDaniels getting a coaching gig outside of the Patriots, that's proven to be far from the case. Just last year, he interviewed with the Green Bay Packers.

While nothing is set in stone, we can officially tab these three teams as potential landing spots for Josh McDaniels if he decides to leave the nest that is New England.
