Chiefs Smartly Fill Void Left by Cam Erving After Signing Former Giants OL Mike Remmers
By Jerry Trotta

The Kansas City Chiefs have kept relatively quiet during the frenetic inception of NFL free agency. On Friday, however, the team did break its silence, but the signing -- former New York Giants backup cornerback Antonio Hamilton -- won't exactly thrill Chiefs supporters.
In some much-needed good news, Arrowhead devotees will be feeling better after hearing that the Chiefs have inked veteran offensive lineman Mike Remmers to a one-year deal.
The Chiefs have agreed to terms on a 1 year deal with Mike Remmers, a source tells me.

Remmers over for Wisniewski. He’ll be a veteran OT/OG flex who has played lots of NFL snaps.
That's more like it.
On a separate note, what is with KC's infatuation of poaching former Giants? That's two former G-Men in one day!
In all seriousness, this is an adequate signing by the Chiefs as Remmers will fill a void that was left by Cameron Erving. Of course, Kansas City decided not to exercise its 2020 team option on the former No. 19 overall pick.
The #Chiefs are signing veteran OT Mike Remmers to a 1-year deal, per @TerezPaylor. He spent last season with the #Giants.

Remmers has experience playing both the guard and tackle positions, but you have to think he'll spend the majority of his snaps next season playing the latter. The 30-year-old will bring with him a veteran presence that is always welcomed on a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
Speaking of which, perhaps this move will spark a fire under general manager Brett Veach.
