The Chiefs' First Signing of the Offseason Will Truly Make Kansas City Fans Puke
By Thomas Carannante

Chiefs fans, the day finally came. Kansas City made an offseason signing after the last four days of insanity. However, the move is far from what anyone expected.
Former New York Giants special teamer and backup cornerback Antonio Hamilton is headed to the Chiefs on a one-year contract, according to the latest buzz.
Former Giants’ CB Antonio Hamilton is signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs, per @RosenhausSports, who added that Hamilton turned down more money from another team. Hamilton is first free agent the Chiefs have signed this off-season.

The good news? Hamilton took less money to come to KC and the Chiefs had the second-best special teams unit in the NFL last season, so they'll get an extra boost with this addition.
The bad news? This was their inaugural move in free agency and it further indicates the team will likely not be making any momentous signings or trades before the 2020 season begins.
The first new player for the #Chiefs. CB Antonio Hamilton, ‘16 undrafted free agent out of South Carolina State. Spent first 2 years with OAK/LV and the last 2 years with NYG. Just missed Steve Spagnuolo in NY. 2 career starts (’19). 200 career defensive snaps, 133 last year. https://t.co/HYQCtsm0gX

This isn't a knock on Hamilton, though if the Chiefs are looking at him to contribute in the secondary, they might be in for quite a ride. The 27-year-old allowed 12 catches for 156 yards on 18 passes thrown in his direction. Yes, it was in limited time (133 snaps), but it's still not good.
While Chiefs fans are hoping for the team to make a big move at some point, much of that came the last two offseasons. At this point, it looks like the front office is going to make minor additions here and there to ensure everything is stable and that the financials are in a favorable position.
