After injuries derailed in his 2019 campaign and Kyle Allen briefly impressed in his stead, questions arose as to whether Cam Newton would be back under center for the Panthers in 2020.

Well, the quarterback himself answered those inquiries on Friday via Tiki and Tierney, saying that he "absolutely" will not be moved by the team. The comments come following a meeting he had with head coach Matt Rhule, owner David Tepper and GM Marty Hurney.

Newton featured in just two games in 2019 before missing the remainder of the season with a Lisfranc injury. Allen took over and led the Panthers to a 5-7 record as a starter, throwing 17 touchdowns but also tossing 16 interceptions and fumbling 13 times.

Newton seems to be on the same page with Rhule who just recently took over as head coach of the Panthers, and based on their previous meeting it looks like he'll be under center for Carolina next year, and hopefully beyond.

The 30-year-old is currently under contract until the end of the 2020 season. He carries a $21.1 million cap hit into the upcoming campaign, and it remains to be seen if the Panthers plan to sign him to an extension. This seen will likely be a determining factor in that decision.
