As expected, the Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Ender Inciarte on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring on Saturday. To take his spot on the active roster, the Braves recalled outfielder Adam Duvall from Triple-A Gwinnett.

A timetable for Inciarte's return is unknown, as it appeared he suffered a severe hamstring injury when running the bases in the second inning of Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He rounded third base and immediately grabbed his hamstring, hopping his way to home plate where he did score.

This is a huge blow for Atlanta, as Inciarte was swinging a hot bat and providing a lot of value on both sides of the ball with Nick Markakis and Austin Riley out.

Interestingly enough, Duvall was optioned yesterday after the team signed shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria and recalled right-hander Bryse Wilson. However, because Inciarte is out with an injury, the Braves could immediately bring Duvall back up.

In 19 games with the big league team this year, Duvall is hitting .250 with five home runs and 10 RBI. He's proven to be a streaky hitter, but his power and defense can't be ignored.
