The Atlanta Braves have a bit of an injury concern heading into the final week of the regular season.

Though the team has managed it extensively over the past month, the fact remains that first baseman Freddie Freeman continues to deal with a sore right elbow, which will result in him missing Atlanta's upcoming series against the Kansas City Royals for maintenance purposes.

The latest aggravation of the injury came during Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants, as he suffered a recurrence of bone spur pain in the elbow in the eighth inning. As a result, he was pulled for the remainder of the game.

While it does sound concerning, the injury continues to not be deemed serious. Manager Brian Snitker revealed that if the NL Division Series were to start this week, Freeman would be out on the field.

Of course he would.

Instead, Freeman will receive treatment on his elbow during Atlanta's two-game series against the Royals. The expectation is Freeman will be good to go for Friday's game on the road against their NL East rival, the New York Mets.

This season, Freeman is batting .298 with 38 home runs, 120 RBI, and 112 runs scored.

Ease your minds, Braves fans. Freddie Freeman sounds like he'll be good to go for October baseball, as they plan to make their first trip to the World Series since 1999.
