Bobby Wagner Just Got a 99 in Madden and That Seems High

The ratings for Madden NFL 20 are beginning to come out, and you won't believe who received a 99.
Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Bobby Wagner has joined the 99 rating club, and even though he may be the best player at his position, should he be rated that high?

Per EA Sports, Wagner will have a 99-rated Tackle and a 98-rated Hit Power, which is the highest you can have. Of course, after tallying 138 tackles, two forced fumbles and a sack, Wagner certainly earned some love from Madden.
He's an absolute beast and the heart and soul of the Seattle defense. Still, though, a 99?

Receiving a 99 rating in Madden makes you one of the 10-best players in the sport. Can you say that's the case with Wagner? Maybe so. I'm open to believing that, but Madden should have an accurate representation of who the handful of best players are, and I don't think Wagner is a slam dunk.
