The Chicago Bears went from a division winner at 12-4 to a 9-7 team that missed out on postseason football, and Matt Nagy needs to bring in some heavy hitters to push this roster to the next level.

The Athletic's Adam Jahns outlined 15 key free agents the Bears should chase, with seven of them playing either quarterback or tight end.

Jahns named both Tom Brady and Philip Rivers as targets for Chicago at quarterback, either of which would push Mitch Trubisky to the bench. That defense has proven with and without Vic Fangio that it is good enough to consistently win games for Nagy when Trubisky is having an off day, so adding one of two future Hall of Famers would be a pretty wise move from Ryan Pace. Teddy Bridgewater and Marcus Mariota were mentioned as lower-ceiling options that would push Trubisky for the QB1 job.

At tight end, two higher-end options include Chargers tight end Hunter Henry and Falcons Pro Bowler Austin Hooper, both of whom likely would rank as two of the 10 best tight ends in the league. Nagy worked wonders with Travis Kelce in Kansas City, and a tight end room of Trey Burton and Adam Shaheen simply isn't cutting it.

Colts disappointment Eric Ebron, who regressed after an awesome 2018, could be a fallback option for Chicago.

Chicago has some money to spend and some holes to fill this pivotal offseason, but doing so in an unwise or reactionary manner could mean the end for Nagy, Trubisky, and Pace in Chicago.
