Baker Mayfield's Stats Since Browns' Bye Week Are Encouraging
By Andy Loughmiller

The Cleveland Browns got a much-needed win Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, their first home win of the season, though it wasn't always pretty.
Baker Mayfield has received much of the blame for the Browns' early-season struggles, and rightfully so, but it looks as if Mayfield has started to turn a corner in terms of his production.
Since the Browns' bye in Week 7, the second-year signal caller has looked like a different player, throwing for four TDs to just one interception.

705 YRDs - 66% Comp. - 4 TDs - 1 INT
vs. The 2nd (NE), 5th (BUF) & 9th (DEN) Ranked Pass Defenses.
Not mind-blowing numbers, but evidence he is starting to turn the corner against good defenses.
On Sunday Mayfield went 26-for-38 for 238 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.
The former Heisman Trophy winner's numbers are even more impressive when you account for the fact that he has faced three top-10 defenses during this stretch.

This humble and buttoned up version of Baker Mayfield is unrecognizable when you compare it to his recent interview antics. Perhaps he is finally growing up.
While Mayfield's certainly trending in the right direction, the Browns remain at 3-6 and he's still struggled to incorporate Odell Beckham Jr. into the offense, as the newly-acquired wide receiver has been targeted just five times in the red zone this season, logging only a single reception in that part of the field.
Ravens CB Marcus Peters has scored more TD (3) than Odell Beckham, Jr., David Johnson, Robert Woods, Zach Ertz and George Kittle this season.

This is just a small sample, but it is encouraging to see that the Browns' franchise quarterback is putting up respectable numbers vs. top-tier NFL defenses.
There's still plenty of room for improvement, and he'll be looking to keep his streak of solid play going Thursday night when Cleveland take on the 5-4 Pittsburgh Steelers.
