Andre Iguodala Out for Warriors in Game 4 With Calf Injury

Portland Trail Blazers v Golden State Warriors - Game Two
Portland Trail Blazers v Golden State Warriors - Game Two / Thearon W. Henderson

The Warriors will look to complete the sweep over the Trail Blazers without veteran Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala injured his left calf early in Game 3, and although the MRI on his calf showed no serious injury, the veteran forward will sit out for Game 4.

The injury would be more of a worry for the Warriors if they were not sitting pretty with their 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals, but losing arguably their second best defender behind Draymond Green is still a tough pill to swallow.

All signs point to a quick return for Iguodala, and as a veteran, the chance of him missing another shot at an NBA championship for a minuscule amount of pain is highly unlikely.

If there every was a golden opportunity for the Blazers to avoid the sweep and salvage whatever pride has not been extinguished by the exquisite play of Golden State, this would be it.

For the Warriors, the game plan remains simple; if you cannot defend as well without Iguodala, just have Steph Curry and Klay Thompson continue their excellent play on the offensive end and defend by committee. Next man up.
