Michael Thomas broke the internet when it was announced that his new contract with the New Orleans Saints would make him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. And for some strange reason, the only dollar signs in Amari Cooper's world are the ones flying through his head.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Cooper is “more interested in just playing football” than anything else, but did offer his thoughts when he saw Thomas' exciting news. When the Dallas Cowboys receiver was asked if he thinks he could be in for a pay raise that could rival that of Thomas, he stated "I don’t know if it will. Hopefully."

It will affect you, Amari. It will.

When you compare the two players, in fact, Cooper and his agent should at least try to state a case to make even more money than Thomas.

Cooper has more Pro Bowl selections than Thomas, is younger by several months, and has a level of superstar potential in Dallas that the Saints wideout would find it difficult to match. In a league where NFL stands for "Not For Long," teams should splurge for the best and youngest athletes while they still can, and Cooper fits that bill.
