Allen Hurns Calls Out Cowboys for Their Ridiculous Contract Request Just Days Before Training Camp
By Thomas Carannante

The Dallas Cowboys had the entire offseason to do this, but the front office decided to try and be slick and wait until the last possible minute.
Veteran wideout Allen Hurns, who was previously signed to a deal with the Cowboys for the 2019-2020 season before being released on Tuesday, had been recovering from a gruesome dislocated ankle for much of the offseason and was working his way back to get on the field with his teammates, which he ultimately did.
On his way out of the organization, however, Hurns revealed the Cowboys asked him to take a paycut on MONDAY, just days before training camp.
Just spoke with #Cowboys WR Allen Hurns on today’s release. He’s understandably disappointed saying “I’m good. Just wished they did this earlier, they asked me for a pay cut Monday. Couple days before camp.”

Props to him for calling out the Cowboys for this to further show how slimy some NFL teams can really be.
He was set to make $6.25 million and we can only expect the Cowboys wanted him to take less so they could find out a way to make room for upcoming contract extensions for Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott.
Important to note: Allen Hurns’ ankle is ready to go, source said. He’ll be a free agent when the release is official. https://t.co/5fiM2skmsB

Now, he'll likely join another team and show them he's ready to contribute immediately.
