Most NHL teams have already made their major move of the 2019 offseason, either through new signings or impactful trades. With a majority of the major names off the board, it's time to take a look at who landed the best players on the best deals. These five contracts are the best of the NHL offseason up to this point.

5. Alexander Kerfoot, Toronto Maple Leafs

After being acquired in the deal that sent Nazem Kadri to the Colorado Avalanche, Alexander Kerfoot and Tyson Barrie packed their bags for Toronto. Just three days after the trade, Kerfoot was inked to a deal with his new team for four years, earning $14 million. Kerfoot has surpassed the 40-point threshold in each of his first two seasons, and will likely only trend upwards from there. The contract was a steal for the Maple Leafs.

4. Wayne Simmonds, New Jersey Devils

Wayne Simmonds' time in Nashville was short-lived. However, the 30 year-old has found a new home just a short drive from the one place spent more than seven seasons. The Devils signed Simmonds to a one-year, $5 million deal which is perfect for the aging forward. If he can get back to his old ways of producing between 40 and 60 points a season, this deal will prove to be a brilliant one for New Jersey. If not, they can simply let him go next season, as the risk here is minimal.

3. Artemi Panarin, New York Rangers

No New York Rangers fan could really complain about their team giving Artemi Panarin $81.5 million over 11 years. The 27 year-old has played four NHL seasons, with both the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets, and has produced no less than 74 points in each year. Although he's being paid a ton of money to don the Rangers red, white and blue, New York was wise to lock him up for what will likely be the rest of his career.

2. Anders Lee, New York Islanders

The New York Islanders were able to re-sign their captain, Anders Lee, for a great price. The 29 year-old will spend the next seven years in the orange and blue, reeling in $7 million per season. Lee has emerged as an elite power-forward over the past few years, including a 40-goal season in the 2017-2018 season. New York has locked up a great leader and point-producer who's shown that he loves playing on the island.

1. Sergei Bobrovsky, Florida Panthers

The fact that the Panthers only have to pay Sergei Bobrovsky $10 million for the next seven seasons is incredible. After losing Roberto Luongo to retirement, they wasted no time in bringing in a new reliable starting goalie. GM Dale Tallon worked his magic to lock up the 30 year-old Russian, who's only goal now is to bring the Florida Panthers the franchise's first Stanley Cup.
