The San Francisco Giants are in a bit of limbo right now, retaining some remnants of their championship core but ultimately needing to get younger. With baseball's 27th-ranked farm system according to MLB.com, the Giants' future doesn't seem to look too promising coming up the pipeline; however, here are three names to keep an eye on as the season progresses at T-Mobile Park.

1. OF Chris Shaw

The Giants' 11th-ranked prospect, Chris Shaw has been solid at Double-A Richmond through 30 games, hitting .276/.361/.552 with 7 home runs. This franchise has been desperately trying to fill their outfield void by acquiring players like Kevin Pillar in 2019 and Andrew McCutchen last season, the latter of whom didn't pan out in the least. Shaw had a cup of coffee with the big league team last year, but hit just .185 over 54 at-bats. Look for him to get another MLB opportunity this season as the Giants continue to take stock of their future.

2. RHP Tyler Beede

No. 23 prospect Tyler Beede pitched just 4.1 innings last year, so it's hard to know what kind of pitcher San Francisco actually has in him just yet. He's off to a hot start in Triple-A this time around, though, pitching to a 1.99 ERA in five starts. With Madison Bumgarner trade rumors swirling, it would be smart for the Giants to stress-test their best minor league arms sooner rather than later.

3. LHP Willians Jerez

The No. 29 prospect in the Giants' system, Willians Jerez has gotten off to a great start in AAA, pitching to a 1.83 ERA in 19.2 innings pitched this season. The Giants could certainly use quality pitching depth as injuries pile up and the season drags on. Jerez might not be destined for future stardom, but if he holds up as a bullpen option in the bigs, he's a success story.
