3 Free Agents Browns Should Sign to Complete Offseason

The Cleveland Browns were one of the biggest winners of the 2020 NFL Draft, as they were able to identify weaknesses on the offensive line, in the secondary, and at linebacker, and they plugged those holes by drafting the likes of Jedrick Wills, Grant Delpit, and Jacob Phillips. Having said that, this team is still in need of an extra piece or two before they can get back to the playoffs, and these three free agents would be a huge help in that department.

3. CB Dre Kirkpatrick

Kirkpatrick was let go after eight seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, as injuries limited the former first-round pick to six games last year. Even on a defense that sported rising star William Jackson, Kirkpatrick was among the best players on that Bengals defense, and his skills in man coverage make him a perfect third cornerback. With him, Greedy Williams, and Denzel Ward in the same secondary, good luck to anyone trying to throw the ball.

2. OG Larry Warford

Warford was a surprising cut, as he was released after the selection of Cesar Ruiz in the first round despite the fact he'd made three consecutive Pro Bowls. The Browns' current starting right guard is Wyatt Teller, a former fifth-round pick who has yet to perform anywhere close to Pro Bowl level. If Kevin Stefanski is serious about getting Baker Mayfield to the playoffs, Warford is a must-add, given his pedigree.

1. EDGE Jadeveon Clowney

In addition to the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets, the Browns have been one of the three teams that have been in pursuit of Clowney now that it has become clear he will likely not return to the Seattle Seahawks. The Browns have Olivier Vernon, but they can, and should, dump that contract if it means they could import Clowney. A freaky strong and explosive pass rusher that is among the best in the league at pressuring the quarterback, Clowney and Myles Garrett on the same line would make for quite the 1-2 punch.
