With every new college football season comes new surprising and embarrassing losses for teams. Week 1 of this NCAA football campaign was no different, and these three coaches should be looking over their shoulders after disappointing performances to start the year.

1. Jeremy Pruitt - Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers didn't come into the season with College Football Playoff expectations, but they certainly didn't expect Saturday's outcome. Georgia State came into Neyland Stadium as 24.5-point underdogs and beat the Volunteers, 38-30, in front of a stunned crowd. There's no excuse for that bad a loss besides a lack of preparation, which falls on Pruitt's shoulders. Three turnovers doesn't help either.

2. Chip Kelly - UCLA

When Chip Kelly was hired two seasons ago, it was with the expectation that he'd turn a prominent program around with his creativity. Fast forward to today, and Kelly's 3-10 after his 24-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats. Kelly's M.O. is offense, and the Bruins only mustered 14 points in their season opener. UCLA had higher expectations this year, with a returning coaching staff, quarterback and weapons in year two of the Kelly regime. Instead, the Bruins laid an egg, as has been the case in Kelly's short tenure with the team.

3. Willie Taggart - Florida State

Taggart's tenure as Florida State head coach has been anything but successful. That trend continued with a 36-31 loss to Boise State. The game was set to be played on a neutral site, but after Hurricane Dorian forced the move back to Florida State's campus, this loss became inexcusable. Everything was working towards an FSU win, yet Boise State walked into Tallahassee with a true freshman quarterback and beat the Seminoles. The FSU offense stalled in the second half, getting shutout and mustering a mere 68 yards in the third and fourth quarters.
