Zack Greinke's Super Blunt Response to Media Question Shows Astros Are Not Intimidated by Yankees
By Sam Dunn

The idea that Zack Greinke doesn't like speaking with reporters is not news. He's famously curt when it comes to sitting for media availability, owing at least in part to his history with social anxiety.
But when he was asked about his Astros' lackluster offensive performance backing him in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Yankees, he pushed back hard using just five words.
A media member asked Greinke if he feels like he has to pitch perfect when he's not being backed by any offense. Greinke: "I don't like that question." #Astros

Greinke, who surrendered three earned runs in six innings but received zero runs and just a single hit from his teammates in a losing effort, won't dream of the Houston offense not showing up for a second (or third!) straight game. The AL West champs aren't the St. Louis Cardinals, after all. They have a former MVP, the sweetest-swinging postseason leadoff man around, and a host of power bats from A to Z (that is, Alex Bregman to Yordan Alvarez).
You don't have to read between the lines to see that Greinke isn't fazed by what the Yankee pitchers showed in Game 1. And that's the mindset his whole team will have to have in this series.

That's got to be music to Astros fans' ears, because dropping two games at the start of this series at home inside Minute Maid Park would be an authentic recipe for disaster.
