Yankees Reportedly Sign Top International Prospect Jasson Dominguez
By Mark Powell

By now, you've heard the hype surrounding Dominican prospect Jasson Dominguez, who's been compared by some to a young Mike Trout. While those expectations have been unfairly placed on Dominguez, who is just 16 years old, he'll surely welcome the opportunity to play with one of the best organizations in professional sports.
Dominguez, as rumored, has signed a deal in the $5 million range with the Yankees, according to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.

Dominguez has been coined 'The Martian' by ESPN's Jeff Passan, considering his age and rapid ascent to stardom at such a young age. His attributes back up that nickname, as they're rather alien to a player this young.
"I know this sounds crazy, but he's like [Mike] Trout. And Trout wasn't close to this good when he was 16," one general manager said.
Another international scouting director has compared Dominguez to Mickey Mantle. While we've seen experiments like Dominguez fail to live up to the hype at the major league level, very few have had the raw ability he flashes at such a young age.
He’s 16. He’s a switch-hitting center fielder with power, speed and a rocket arm. He’s nicknamed The Martian — because, they say, there’s no way he’s from this world. And come July 2, he’s expected to be the newest New York Yankee.
