No matter how well he plays, outfielder Clint Frazier continues to be the odd man out in New York.

The Yankees beefed up their offense on Saturday, as they acquired veteran designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion. To make room for the new Yankee, Frazier is the one whose been optioned to Triple-A Scranton.

On the bright side, Frazier was going to lose playing time, as Giancarlo Stanton is returning on Tuesday, and now he'll have a chance to play on an everyday basis at Triple-A instead of riding the bench.

In 52 games this season, Frazier is slashing .285/.333/.522 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI. He's been hot lately, hitting .321/.386/.603 with five home runs and 16 RBI over his last 22 games.

Frazier has performed well enough to stay in the majors, which makes you believe he could be on a new team very soon. I mean, he'll eventually run out of minor league options and the Yankees don't have an everyday spot for him when everyone is healthy.

All he can do is continue to rake at Triple-A before getting another opportunity.
