Yankees Need to Free Clint Frazier and Trade Him Immediately

Imagine hitting .283 with 11 home runs in the middle of June for the New York Yankees and getting optioned to the minor leagues.

As improbable as it sounds, Clint Frazier has found himself heading down to Triple-A Scranton, as he was optioned to make room for the incoming reinforcements of Edwin Encarnacion, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in the outfield.

With Judge and Stanton on the verge of returning from injuries, this move was bound to happen at some point. However, Frazier has been raking at the major league level, proving that he's to good to be riding a bus to road games in front of 2,500 people.

For his own sake, the eventual deal for a stud pitcher needs to be made now.

After a couple poor outings in a row from James Paxton, the Yankees are in desperate need of starting pitching.

Still only 24 years old, Frazier's 22 extra base hits and 124 OPS+ in 52 games merit him for everyday work at the MLB level. Be it Madison Bumgarner, Marcus Stroman, or perhaps an even bigger name, the Yankees need to pull the trigger on that deal and send Frazier somewhere he'll play every day.

While some Yankees fans were calling for his head after some poor defensive showings, he's an improving young slugger with 25 home run potential, which makes him a very attractive trade chip.
