Gleyber Torres' Video Game Analogy for Astros' Sign-Stealing Scandal Will Bridge All Gaps of Misunderstanding

The fallout of the Houston Astros' sign-stealing operation has engulfed the entirety of the MLB's offseason, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight.

The ceaseless chain reaction has made its way to New York Yankees budding superstar Gleyber Tores, and the young infielder provided perhaps the most simplistic theory on why he believes the Astros continued cheating in 2019.

Torres compared the scandal to playing video games against teammate Luis Severino.

It was staring us right in the face all this time!

Torres basically said that if Severino doesn't catch him peeking at his controller to prepare for his next move, he'll simply continue to do it until Sevy catches him in the act. Why wouldn't the Astros believe in the same methodology? Also ... notice the significant advantage Torres gets playing video games when he knows what pitch is coming! Sorry, Sevy!

In terms of spot-on analogies, well, look no further than Torres'. The two-time All-Star also offered up his thoughts on Jose Altuve's impulsive decision to instruct his teammates not to rip his jersey off after his walk-off homer against Aroldis Chapman that sent Houston to the World Series.

Sounds about right.

Spring Training is just days old and a legion of players have already come forward without hesitation to eviscerate the Astros, and there has been no evidence to suggest that narrative will peter out anytime soon.
