The Yankees saw 30 different players make trips to the injured list in 2019, with many suffering multiple setbacks on their road back to recovery. Well, after the injury-marred campaign, the Yankees have made some changes.

Yankees Director of Strength and Conditioning, Matt Krause, was fired from his role on Friday, according to the New York Post.

Yankees fans will be glad to hear the news, as they've suffered two straight years in which at least 20 players have spent time on the injured list. The 30 players sent to the IL in 2019 were the most in a single season in MLB history for any franchise.

Obviously, Krause cannot be directly blamed for every single one of the Yankees' injuries and setbacks, but there is at least some level of responsibility here. After all, it's his job to ensure the players stay healthy, and he was quite clearly coming up short.

Before joining the Yankees, Krause spent 11 years in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He was even named Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2017 by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Whether it was because of bad luck, improper recovery techniques, or allowing players to play through injury, Krause didn't achieve the desired results. With the World Series firmly in the team's sights, the Yankees need to ensure they avoid another season riddled with injuries.
