Yankees Fans Mistook Zack Granite Signing for Zack Greinke and Now He's Trending on Twitter

Appreciate what you have, Yankees fans!

Fans of the Bronx Bombers are already taking Zack Granite...for granted. The Yankees signed the former Twins MiLB Player of the Year, promising him a chance to compete for an MLB roster spot in Spring Training. Given New York's limited options in the outfield at the moment, those odds aren't as low as one might think. Brett Gardner is old and a free agent. Aaron Hicks is injured. It could happen!

Yet, instead of appreciating a savvy move by Brian Cashman, Yankees fans want more!

I'd be lying if I said the thought didn't cross my mind. Yet, Greinke isn't a free agent, in part because the Astros are stuck with (some) of his albatross of a contract. Were he actually on the market, the Yanks would surely give him a call.

Granite is a Staten Island native and sets up a great Spring Training storyline, but forgive us for taking a moment to make fun of the outrageous expectations of Yankees fans. It's Nov. 22, just a month removed from the end of their season at the hands of the Astros, and they're out here begging for an ace.

Some things never change.
