The New York Yankees won't be disputing the 2020 salary of their star third baseman from last year.

Gio Urshela and the team have settled on one-year, $2.475 million deal for next season, thus avoiding arbitration.

Urshela was a surprise star in the Bronx after getting picked up from the Blue Jays. In 132 games, he crushed 21 home runs and drove in 75 runs, hitting to the tune of an incredibly impressive 132 OPS+. This was his first year of arbitration eligibility, hence the low salary.

Of course, Urshela's success with the team casts a shadow of doubt on the future of injured youngster Miguel Andujar. With the former now playing at a high level at a low cost, the latter has practically been squeezed out of a starting role with the team despite his immense upside.

For the Yankees, though, it's a good problem to have. Let's see how Aaron Boone plans to use these guys in 2020.
