Sit down. Sit on down.

Are you sitting down? Like I told you to?

Good. Stay there until 8:08 tonight, and then through the rest of the night, as well. Because you're about to see a caliber of World Series Game 7 pitching matchup that stands without an equal.

That's right. Never before have we had two Cy Young winners, who'd already captured the award, facing off in a World Series game of this caliber. No Koufax/Palmer, no Whitey Ford/Warren Spahn, and no Pedro/Randy Johnson. Never in a Game 7 of the Series.

Now, usually, matchups of this ilk don't end up living up to the hype, and there's a very valid reason to believe we could be let down Wednesday night; after all, Max Scherzer already effectively canceled one game in this series when he woke up with his back and neck entirely locked, prior to Game 5.

But Zack Greinke and his unparalleled coolness shined on the road in Game 3, saving the series and tilting the balance. And as much as Scherzer can give us, we'll take, with the bullpen fully rested after Stephen Strasburg's Game 6 masterpiece (and Anibal Sanchez and Patrick Corbin available).

We have no frame of reference for this. We've never seen this before. Prepare yourself for something historic, no matter the outcome.
