Las Vegas has now decided to "open up" for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began, as many major casinos and entrainment venues finally started to allow patrons back.

Entranced by the allure of Vegas, it seems as if Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras wasted almost no time hopping on a plane and heading down to Nevada, if we can believe his latest Instagram.

OK, so, Vegas is reopened. Did they do so safely at limited capacity? Uh...

Yeah, pretty much business as usual.

Contreras, who hit 24 home runs last season and established himself as one of the game's premier offensive catchers, needs to watch himself as it pertains to his health.

Las Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman has been quoted on TV as saying that she is willing to use the city as an experiment to see what happens if proper social distancing rules are not adhered to, which means casinos are unlikely to police themselves. Cubs fans need to hope Contreras wore a mask and didn't contract a virus that could knock him out of commission before the start of the season.

If Contreras did indeed patronize Sin City, we need to hope that he wore a mask and practiced proper social distancing measures. If he didn't, he could find himself mixed up in an entirely new controversy.
