Vladimir Guerrero's Tweets During Son's HR Derby Performance Will Melt Your Heart
By Sean Facey

We may have gotten a historic performance from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in this year's Home Run Derby, but his father's tweets throughout the event may have stolen the show.
Vladimir Guerrero's reactions on Twitter to his son's performance will absolutely melt your heart.
From the moment things got underway, he was sure to remind everyone that his kid could bring the thunder.

Guerrero Sr., a former Home Run Derby champion himself, knows a good performance when he sees one.
He wasn't immune to nerves, though. When Pete Alonso started approaching his son's mark in the final round, he hilariously displayed that he was getting just a bit anxious.

At the end of the day, he was proud of what his son had accomplished as any father would be.
¡Gran esfuerzo mi hijo! ¡Orgulloso de ti! | Great work son! ¡I’m proud of you! #VG27

And yes, he was gracious in his son's defeat too. He offered his congratulations on a job well done to Alonso almost as soon as the Mets rookie walked it off.
What a show❗️

Congratulations Pete, great performance.
A father's pride tops any prize that Vlad Jr. could have won, and nothing is more heartwarming than watching his father send out his love and joy throughout what turned out to be an amazing Home Run Derby.
