This game has quickly changed from the Belk Bowl to the Lynn Bowden Jr. revenge game. It was already an interesting matchup, but Virginia Tech vs. Kentucky's stakes have gotten that much higher following the dispute the teams had at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Monday.

The game will kick off at noon EST on ESPN and the WatchESPN app, and will also be available for viewing through the NCAA's college football reddit stream.

Upon seeing their opponents at the NASCAR Hall of Fame induction ceremony, several Virginia Tech players began berating a group of Kentucky's players, including Lynn Bowden Jr. and a few others, taunting and egging them on. The verbal bout didn't turn into anything physical, but judging by Bowden and fellow teammates' comments, it did more than enough to add fuel to the fire for the game.

Kentucky is 7-5 (3-5 SEC) on the year, with Bowden leading the team in rushing with 1,235 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named their starting quarterback after injuries to their first and second stringers, and is this year's Paul Hornung award winner, as well as a NCAA first team All-American.

Virginia Tech enters the game just a notch above Kentucky record-wise, at 8-4. They may, however, have set themselves a few places below the team in the class department, and the spat has garnered a majority of the focus surrounding pre-game talks. On the field, the Hokies have key wins vs. No. 19 Wake Forest and UNC, with quarterbacks Hendon Hooker and Ryan Willis splitting time at the position. Hooker was named the team's offensive player of the year, as voted by his teammates.
