Villarreal stuns Manchester United in Europa League Final

Our apologies to folks who bet money on Manchester United to win the 2021 Europa League Final, because Villarreal had other ideas. The La Liga side went ahead and pulled off quite the stunner, taking down the English Premier League giants.

With the two sides square at 1-1 after full time, no one could claim the victory in the 30 minutes of extra time. Villarreal went on to win the title in a penalty kick shootout.

Villarreal opened the scoring in the first half, but United evened things up in the second half thanks to Edinson Cavani. In the shootout, it was an epic battle. However, Villarreal goalie Gerónimo Rulli stopped a David De Gea effort to give his team the win. Truly an epic game.
