Vikings Reportedly Waive Suspended RB Roc Thomas

Roc Thomas will need to find a new team if he hopes to continue his NFL career in 2019. The second-year running back was suspended three games on July 16 for marijuana charges.

Six days later, Thomas has been waived by the Minnesota Vikings.

Thomas was an undrafted running back out of FCS Jacksonville State University in 2018, and he made the Vikings roster for his explosiveness out of the backfield as a potential change-of-pace back. However, he put up poor numbers in limited action, rushing just 8 times for 30 yards and adding 2 catches for 21 yards.

Thomas attended Auburn University before transferring to Jacksonville State after his sophomore season.

Thomas will likely get looks from other teams in training camp, but with his looming suspension, he seems like a long shot to make a roster.
