Vikings Are One Move From Winning the NFL Offseason

The Minnesota Vikings made a surprising move this offseason by trading wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. General manager Rick Spielman quickly restocked the position by using a first-round pick on LSU's Justin Jefferson. In fact, the team made 15 selections in what was a draft class filled with room for error.
The top pick acquired in the Diggs trade was the one used on Jefferson. That constitutes the most notable move of the offseason. Yet Spielman can still add to his roster and get even better after selecting 15 players to plug holes all over the team. His next big splash could be to sign free agent offensive guard Larry Warford.
Larry Warford in 2019 received:

75.8 overall grade
71.4 pass block grade
76.6 run block grade
32 pressures allowed
If the #Vikings are interested in signing him he would immediately become the highest graded offensive lineman on the team in overall grade#SKOL https://t.co/yaHXoqrf7e
Warford being on the market in the first place is surprising. Spielman should jump on the opportunity to sign the three-time Pro Bowler and make him the starting right guard. The one thing that stands out as a potential obstacle is the salary cap.
Get to work Rick Spielman an affordable right guard

As of right now the Vikings have just over $12 million in cap space. That is with a list of unsigned rookies. But Warford was on a four-year, $34 million deal in New Orleans. The Vikings should be able to make the money work after moving Diggs and potentially letting Everson Griffen walk.
Warford is a clear upgrade for most teams in the NFL. He wasn't cut because of his talent, but rather so the Saints could spend money elsewhere. The Vikings are paying Kirk Cousins a fortune and should try to assemble the best offensive line for him. Signing Warford off the open market is a clear no-brainer for Spielman and the Vikings.
